When we go to a place near about we go on foot . But when we go to a distant place, we go by train or bus or steamer . A few days ago, I made a journey by train.
They journey , I made, was from Dhaka to Narsingdi to pay a visit to one of my friends’ house . I was to attend the marriage ceremony of my friend’s elder sister. So I reached kamlapur Station at about 5:45 a.m. for the 6:15 train. Then I booked a ticket and waited for the train. Soon the train came and I got on the train into a second class compartment.
The computer , I was in, was over crowded . There was no vacant room to sit on but a gentleman sitting beside the window pressed hard to his left and made a little room for me. So I sat beside him and thanked him. After a few minutes , the whistle sounded and the train began to move on . I kept looking outside through the window . Soon the train began to run in full speed. The houses and the tress on both sides seemed to be running backward . The sights were changing every moment . It was a passenger train . So, it touched all the stations on the way. At Tongi Junction , the train stopped a little longer . The train began to run again and passes over the bridge across the shitalakhay . The boats sailing below looked very nice . By then, the sun was high up. Peasants were going to the field . I kept on looking on both sides and saw many beautiful sights.
The train passed through green fields and at last it entered the platform at Narsingdi Station at about 11 a. m. My friend was waiting for me. I got down and met my friend .
It was a pleasant journey . I enjoyed it so much that the memory of the journey will remain ever fresh in my mind.
