Overview

As a 15-year golf veteran, to say that I have learned a thing or two about this wildly competitive and mind-blowing game would be an understatement.

Golf is one of the most challenging sports; it takes perpetual rounds of practice and groundbreaking knowledge to master. It’s a game that requires pinpoint precision and calculations to master when hitting golf balls with a golf club.
By using the best golf rangefinder, you will improve your golfing achievement.

With over a decade of golf experience, I have had the pleasure of using a few dozen golf range finders (and let me tell you; they are not all created equal). From building quality to accurate distance measurement, all golf rangefinders have their strengths and weaknesses. Here, you will learn to distinguish between the two. So you can choose a rangefinder that meets your golf demands.
If you’ve come here because you’ve searched for a rangefinder, you’ve come to the right place.

New Rangefinder

From the Bushnell Tour V4 Jolt laser rangefinder to the new. And improved Nikon rangefinder, I tested a host of rangefinder products and concluded by reviewing the top ten. I’ve ever played golf before.

I’ve written and posted this top ten conclusion on the best golf rangefinder to help my fellow golf enthusiast researchers improve their game before hitting golf balls.

With the products I have used to excel in my golf game, I am confident that you too will see enormous increases in your game results with these tried and tested rangefinders.

Golf is a game of patience, skill, and learning. It’s a game that takes time to master and years to perfect and be the best at. If my mission is successful, by the end of this guide, you will have the product knowledge for better game-to-game fulfillment.

This comprehensive guide will answer the questions I get the most about golf rangefinders, including:

What is a golf rangefinder?

Can golf rangefinders be used in tournaments?

How can I use a golf rangefinder to improve my game?

Are golf rangefinders worth the cost-game performance price?

What are the best golf rangefinders to improve my score / performance?

Demanding Game

Don’t settle for mediocre results. Golf is a very demanding game. Nothing is more frustrating than being on the field and needing to take a shot that you can’t measure. Throwing distances dictate which club (s) should be used.

Without precisely determining the distance between your location and the flag, it will be difficult to maximize your true golf potential.

With a golf rangefinder, you can eliminate this hassle and KNOW  how far your shot is so you can choose the ideal club for your drive.

Using a golf rangefinder can be the game-changing difference between a losing or a winning round. It will reduce the number of swings you will need to take during your performance.

This means that your golf partner will win more rounds, even if he wears the golf watch and golf to his true professional-level potential.

Top 10 Golf Rangefinders

1. Bushnell Tour V4 Slope Edition Golf Laser Rangefinder

If you are like me and have been a fan of the Bushnell hybrid golf brand, now you will be more excited than ever. This is because the Bushnell Tour V4 shift rangefinder, in 2019, revamped not only its range of laser golf rangefinders (tour v3?) But also its GPS rangefinder devices.

With new products, they now live up to their game with technology that is fully tuned with the golfer in mind.

It’s sporty, professional, and stylish in appearance and packed with innovative technology that takes golf strategy to a whole new level.

First, I want to highlight that the pattern is beautiful. Its elegant shape stresses its ambition to be the best in quality and functionality. With the best golf rangefinder, it is one of the standout as it has been one of the best rangefinders I’ve used throughout my semi-professional career (it has a 1,000-yard range after all).

Bushnell Golf Tour V4 Slope Laser Rangefinder

Not only does the Bushell Tour V4 look amazing, it is incredibly light for its shape and is quite small. It never gets in my way or obstructs my actions, which I attribute to Bushnell’s improved, quality-built shell that can easily be attached to a golf bag or backpack and makes you look amazing in front of your golf partner.

So it is incredibly accurate because of its PinSeeker technology with a range of 1,000 yards

It is a legal rangefinder for tournaments that allows users to activate / deactivate the slope function

Those upgrading from Bushnell Tour V4 will receive all the same features on this unit, but with PinSeeker technology and Jolt technology.

This function uses short / explosive pulses that will give pin accuracy to within a yard (yes, you read that right). One of the many reasons I chose this Bushnell hybrid product.
For perfect cost-value performance, you can’t go wrong with the Bushell Tour V4 (better than the Tour V3).

2 Nikon Prostaff 1000i laser rangefinder

Next on my list takes us to the Nikon Prostaff 1000i rangefinder. I must start by saying that the Nikon Prostaff 3i is an incredible rangefinder for the price. I’ve used it for multiple tournament-style golf games, and it was actually a pleasure to see how far Nikon has come in this space.
Let’s get into the details. It’s super small, has 6x magnification capabilities, and allows distance tracking of up to 650 yards (for reflective targets).

Nikon had enthusiastic golfers in mind during product development, as the Prostaff 4i performs angle-compensated adjustments with precision and is equipped with target priority modes.

These modes allow you to prioritize a target in the distance beyond another target that the rangefinder can pick up (very useful for courses with congested holes where the holes are very close to each other).

3 Leupold RX-1600i TBR Laser Rangefinder

With the best golf rangefinder, the Leupold RX-1600i is without a doubt one of them. Perfect for golf beginners and professionals, the Leupold RX-650 is an excellent choice for all golf needs.

Leupold RX-1600i TBR Laser Rangefinder

I say this because Leupold built this golf rangefinder with simplicity in mind. It’s simple, practical, and useful for all golf shooting needs.

It claims multilayer optics, a scan mode, a fast focus range, and 6x magnification functionality.

I used this rangefinder during a recent trip with my golf partner to California on a week-long golf trip with friends.

There were a few shots on this course by the ocean that forced me to use this rangefinder to its full potential. Even at 650 yards measurement the target was sharp and I always measured distance with pinpoint accuracy.

The RX-650 features a one-button approach to simplify use. Its innovative technology offers fast and accurate readings and has an image as clear as a 4K TV in your living room. This has made it a fan favorite and a golf rangefinder, with many owners saying they like the “simple” approach to this (and I can’t blame them) it makes me more comfortable with the golf club.

While it is a rangefinder from a less popular and lesser known brand compared to other manufacturers (such as Bushnell), the Leupold is a quality built device and will enhance your gaming performance while giving you years of use (thanks to its quality) construction. focused).

Leupold has been in the optics business for over 100 years. By relying on their products for your golf game needs, you are also incorporating the latest and greatest technology in the industry.

Rx-650

The RX-650 is an amazing long distance golf rangefinder for the cost and will keep you accurately on target. Varying based on your needs will determine the right range for you. With a radius of 650 yards, that’s more than enough distance for the average golfer (although some users have reported up to 700 yards).

I also like the fact that it works with a CR2 lithium battery, as it sells them in almost every store. This means that if it dies, you will have no trouble finding a replacement and only requires one battery to function.

Unlike other rangefinders, despite its low price range, the RX-650 has the same magnification capabilities as the RX-1200i. It will get close to the target up to six times without compromising quality. Provides an accurate, easy-to-read image so you can take the guesswork out of driving that perfect ride.

Better performance, better golf; You can’t go wrong with the RX-650!

4. TecTecTec VPRO500

An accurate, game-changing rangefinder doesn’t appear too often. So when you do, you need to pay attention.

TecTecTec VPRO500 Golf Rangefinder

That’s because one of my top-rated, top-rated golf rangefinder products (like the TecTecTec VPRO500 golf rangefinder) can lower your golf score to the number of shots you know you can hit.

One of the most important specifications of a golf rangefinder is, well, the range.

With the TecTecTec VPRO500 golf rangefinder, you can track distances of up to 540 yards with TecTecTec’s built-in “continuous scan” tracking mode. While others allow tracking of longer distances, the VPRO500’s 540-yard distance is more than enough for most golfers and courses.

With the VPRO500, you won’t waste time in the field with fairly instant readings either (I was impressed with the quick read feature).

Let’s take a look at what I consider most important about any golf range finder;

rank. When it comes to the TecTecTec VPRO500 rangefinder, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

A continuous “scan mode” with a range of 540 yards makes it the perfect golf partner. It’s easy to use, and I averaged 4-6 fewer hits per game when using this particular rangefinder (I attribute that to absolute precision and very clear-to-see optics).

Its pin accuracy is also enhanced by its Pin Sensor technology; Get readings up to +/- 1 meter with over 5,000 speed read actions! This also means that it is very effective in avoiding obstacles and allows you to target from first to last pin (if you are aiming for a hole beyond a hole closer to you). With this built-in technology, chances are you too will rarely become a flag / hazard.

Improve your game and reach your true performance with the TecTecTec VPRO500 golf rangefinder. It is a reputable rangefinder for all golf demands and has helped many players just like you optimize their game at a price that fits any budget.

I will say it with all fairness and transparency.

There are “some” online golf range finder reviews from VPRO500 buyers citing that TecTecTec VPRO500’s range is 30 yards (each way), while some reviewers also report having issues with not having a reading. Clear through overgrown landscapes.

As with most products, everyone will have their opinions/problems, but I never encountered these problems when using this golf rangefinder made by TecTecTec.

5 NIKON COOLSHOT 20 rangefinder

Are you tired like me of having to ask your caddy to measure the distance to your target? Have you ever wondered why you are not using the technology yourself to improve your accuracy and shoot within meters of the mark?

Nikon Coolshot 20 GII Golf Laser Rangefinder

Now your wait is over as I review one of my favorite golf range finders that I have used for this study.
If you want to improve your golf performance with minimal investment, some golf rangefinder reviews say you can’t go wrong with the Nikon Coolshot 20.

I’m going to touch on a few different areas when it comes to the Nikon Coolshot 20 Slope Rangefinder, including its weight, size, holding comfort, and ease of use.

Light

Golf is not just a sport of patience, but a game of exhaustion. This is especially true for those long days hiking in the field instead of using a golf cart (maybe none are available the day you play).

In such a case, I should prepare you with a golf rangefinder that is lightweight and mobile-friendly. This is where the Nikon Coolshot 20 comes in handy.

Walking on the course is already a tiresome journey; The last thing you need to do is make it much more challenging with a heavy-duty rangefinder that will only slow you down.
With the Coolshot 20, you won’t have to worry about this. One of its best features is its incredible lack of weight.

In fact, after getting my hands on this rangefinder and seeing how weightless it felt.

I researched its weight online to see what it measures at, and it’s the lightest rangefinder ever produced by Nikon.

You literally won’t even know it’s attached to you or your bag. Its lightweight carrying case also makes carrying a breeze.

Compact

It’s safe to say that your phablet-sized phone is always in your pocket while playing golf. So why not replace it with the Nikon Coolshot 20 – a pocket-sized replacement that will undoubtedly benefit your round of golf more than your phone? Measuring just 9cm by 7cm, it’s the smallest and most compact rangefinder ever released by Nikon.

I usually carried my Coolshot 20 in my pocket, but on the occasions when I carried it by hand, I didn’t feel any discomfort (it’s no different from carrying a phone; size-wise).

Convenience to wear

Above, I highlighted that the Nikon Coolshot 20 is as light to carry as your phone and has great battery life. You can assume that it is not comfortable to carry, as most phones are not that comfortable to hold (but that’s because of the shape).

Nikon went further in this carefully planned rangefinder with built-in grips that make holding it feels natural in the hand (strangely, it’s almost therapeutic).

Some describe the shape as similar to that of a water pot, and its good surface grip reduces the chance of this game-changing device being dropped and damaged.

6 Impact of Optics Vortex 850

What an amazing rangefinder! The Vortex Impact 850 is one I was excited to get my hands on and write reviews on as recommended to me by a close golf friend of mine who has been using his Impact 850 for years; ever since his golf instructor introduced him to him during lessons.

I’d like to start by saying, for those looking for a quality two-in-one rangefinder to play golf at a reasonable price, you can’t go wrong with this model.

Since other rangefinders are more expensive than the Impact 850, I would expect the Vortex golf rangefinder to include fewer features than the industry’s leading rivals. However, that is not the case.

Impact of Optics Vortex 850
Vortex

The Vortex Impact 850 rangefinder far exceeded all of my demands for rangefinder features and, at a price, I think it is suitable for all gamers.

The Impact 850 rangefinder measures 6X20mm and is one of the cheapest rangefinder options on the market. However, it is a quality rangefinder that does not disappoint users with the features that every golfer on the course should have.
When I first heard about this model from my golf buddy, I thought, “A low-cost rangefinder that doesn’t skimp on features?” I just knew I had to try it after hearing how it helped my friend improve. your scores; game after game.
When I included this in my review, I ordered mine on Amazon as it is priced better there than at my local store.

It is available in two colors:

matte green and black.
It has a hard plastic body that makes it an extremely durable golf rangefinder and perfectly capable of withstanding wild use.
It was nice to see that Vortex made the screw-on battery cover and eyepiece rubberized (as well as the Measure and Menu button).

As with most rangefinders, the Impact 850 is powered by an individually installed CR2 battery. For me, my rangefinder must have this battery size, as it is available at almost every corner store and service station (some pro golf course stores sell these too).

Its watertight construction makes it one of the best golf rangefinder options on the market for those in tropical states or those with climatic challenges. It is waterproof, durable, and has a lightweight. Its adjustable focus eyepiece (with 6X zoom) makes the screen incredibly easy to read even for those who struggle with vision problems.

The bright, easy-to-read display features a bold cross, and the padded eyepiece curve makes use look easy.

I would like to point out that Impact 850 is quite large. I have no trouble seeing and I have almost perfect vision according to my eye doctor. They are too big, but perhaps they are the perfect size for those who cannot see as perfectly as they would hope. Regardless, even small objects are easy to measure and track distance.

Ease To Use

What I appreciate about the Vortex Impact 850 is the easy-to-use menu where you can choose angle-considered readings including HCD (Horizontal Component Distance) and LOS (Line of Sight).

Depending on your preference, you can also track distances in both yards and meters. In LOS mode, “Inclination” is displayed in units of “degrees”.

A fixed target (the pin) can be aimed quite quickly / accurately. The optics can also scan for moving objects moving across a plane or it can scan perpetually without stopping in what is called the “Scan” mode (which is enabled by pressing the “Measure” button).

Finally, the Vortex Impact 850 comes with a very sturdy carrying bag (with a belt loop), a manual, a microfiber cloth (for cleaning the device), a lanyard, and even an MRAD / MOA drop slot.

7 Sig Sauer Kilo 850 Golf Front Rangefinder

Next on my list, we come to the Sig Sauer Kilo 850. Integrating technology from one of the world’s most renowned lens manufacturers into your golf strategy can only lead to pro-level performance.

Sig Sauer Kilo 850 Golf Front Rangefinder

It was in 2019 when Sig Sauer planned the optics of the product with the golfer in mind. Let’s find out if that name lived up to its reputation in the nearly two years of intermittent use experience I’ve had with this well-reviewed golf rangefinder.

At first glance, it’s an unassuming golf rangefinder. However, it is anything but your atypical golf optical device. For the price, it packs a lot of features.

You’d expect on a much higher-priced device.

The first thing you’ll notice about the Sig Sauer Kilo 850 is its weight; it is practically weightless. With first and second orientation options with ultrafast computing, you’ll recover your distances in what appears to be milliseconds.

The Sig Sauer Kilo 850 supports four-stroke zoom enhancement with the support of 20mm aim lenses. Plus, its 24mm eye relief technology will ensure easy-to-read tracking for vision-impaired golfers (no more straining).

Measurement

There are three measurement methods available: Best, Last, and a third option called Hyperscan.

In this example, Sig Sauer added Lightwave DSP (digital signal processing) which is fast at the speed of light.

According to Sig Sauer, the Kilo 850 can calculate readings it will update EVERY second your distances four times (you mean FAST!).

This Hyperscan mode is especially useful for tournament shots where accuracy is essential. Even for recreational play, it’s an incredible rangefinder for golfers who want to reduce their strokes for better game-to-game results.

Golfers have endorsed the Sig Sauer Kilo 850 with thousands of glowing reviews online about its durability, golfer-friendly price, and packed features. It’s easy for newcomers to use, compact, and calculates miles at hyper-drive speeds to give them the data they need in a fraction of a second.

While there have been complaints about glass imperfections rendering the Sig Sauer Kilo 850 unusable (very, very few cases), Sig Sauer offers a complimentary UNLIMITED 5-year lifetime protection warranty that covers any damage. (even accidental falls). This makes for a non-gambling investment in technology that will raise your game tenfold.

It is powered by a single CR2 battery that runs the enhanced LCD screen displaying a black reticle with black readings. For battery efficiency, Sig Sauer did a fantastic job with the Kilo 850. With just one battery, you can expect to receive over 4,000 readings (just amazing).

To Read: Top 10 best golf bag for push cart review-Don’t Buy without Reading My Review

Keep in mind, however, that Hyperscan mode will drain the battery much faster (I learned this when my new CR2 battery ran out in two weeks (I was using this mode almost full time).

Good to see Sig Sauer included in a battery with the Kilo 850, making it a ready-to-go rangefinder right out of the box.

They’ve certainly pulled it off with the Kilo 850, as it comes with Best Target mode, AMR, and its measurements are preset to display in yards.

8 Callaway 300 Pro Golf Laser Rangefinder

The Callaway 300 laser rangefinders were a pleasure to use during my 2-week golf vacation in Hawaii. The Callaway’s 300 features a rangefinder with grade function technology readings and measures incline and slope levels to accurately determine distances.

It also features a pin lock feature that locks the target pin “in place” for targets up to 300 yards away.

You can position the needles as you move along the course for a precise location or you can lock the flap in place when approaching. It makes all of this by the use of Callaway’s Pin Acquisition Technology (PAT).

Features

Golfers can also scan the entire course to determine hole distances with a lens that offers 6X zoom capabilities.

The laser rangefinder 300 can also alert you each time it has locked onto a needle. This makes it a great range finder not only for beginner and intermediate players but also for experienced players who have been playing golf for years.

By far, the Callaway 300 laser rangefinder is one of the most advanced, complex, and innovative golf rangefinders on the market today. For a device in this price range, it offers TONS of features, a comfort-focused design (to hold), and a fast remote computing processor for quick reads.

Of all the rangefinders I’ve used and reviewed on this list, the 300 laser rangefinder is one of the bestcan capture and process data for targets up to 1,000 yards away.

Feature

It also features a rangefinder with slope technology adjustment that provides players with precisely managed data for calculating slopes.

Also, as I live in a place that receives sporadic rainfall most of the year, I enjoy the waterproof design of the Callaway 300. The weather, too often, is unpredictable. Rain or shine, you need to be on top of your game. With the Callaway 300, you will never lose your potential as you can use it in all weather conditions.

Technology

Technology has come a long way. The Callaway 300 is accurate to 1 yard, putting it on the level of golf rangefinders that are most attractive to professional-level golfers and enthusiasts who demand the best for reliable performance round after round, tournament after tournament.

The Callaway 300 is capable of accurately setting multiple targets simultaneously in all weather conditions. Its bright, clear display makes it incredibly easy to read (even for those who wear glasses),can track distances between 5-100 yards and also at a six-fold magnification.

With the Callaway 300, golfers can enjoy the market’s innovative rangefinders. The scenic mode that not only selects and sets multiple targets at the same time but also removes unimportant surrounding objects that may be obscuring their view from the background.

I appreciate the fact that Callaway includes a repair divot tool kit and even an extra two-volt battery for no extra money (something most other manufacturers don’t do). Its ergonomic, small, and lightweight design makes it easy to use and transport and its price range are one of the best cost-value deals in the golf rangefinder industry.

9 Leupold GX-3i2 features a mode 2

I am a fan of simplicity. I believe that the simpler and more efficient a product is, the better for the consumer. With the Leupold GX-3i2, golfers will enjoy a 2-mode setting that makes using the rangefinder quite easy to use.

Leupold GX-3i2 features a mode 2
Methods

Both methods give very accurate distance results for calculating distances between you and your targets. A “fog” mode allows smooth readings during harsh weather, and the “scan” mode allows scanning of multiple targets at the same time (useful if you want to measure the distances to two fresh holes at the same time).

I have been a user of Leupold laser rangefinders for years. I have never had complaints or problems with their products, and I don’t think there is room for improvement in their rangefinders. However, he was wrong. With the GX-3i2 they have improved and exceeded the expectations of golfers once again.

What sets Leupold apart from other rangefinder brands is its community-driven support. They listen to the needs and demands of their golf consumers.

With the Leupold GX-3i2, golfers will enjoy all the significant features of its predecessors; Clear optics, durable construction, and easy-to-use settings. This time, however, golf perfectionists will enjoy the PinHunter 2 technology, which makes it incredibly easier to get to the flag.

Easy to set up and use

Install the CR2 battery, press the power button, and increase your game. Could it be easier?

Those who have used earlier models, such as the GX-3 or GX-3i, will enjoy a familiar switch configuration. A button at the top (for power) and a side-positioned “Mode” make it easy to switch between actions. The “Mode” offers golfers unique options to choose from: enable or disable fog mode, toggle measurements between yards or meters, change the optics reticle, and turn the alert beep on / off.

Unlike some laser rangefinders that make switching between these modes difficult with deeply buried menus and hard-to-find toggle options; The Leupold GX-3i2 makes gameplay changes to our rangefinder quickly and smoothly (you won’t need to waste valuable time figuring out how to set it up in between).

The Leupold laser rangefinder will not disappoint and is sure to elevate your golfing achievement. It is a deadly accurate tool that measures distances to search for pins within a gauges tenth of a yard.

I’ll put it like this: When military personnel need precise measurement optics, Leupold is your choice. They should be yours too.

10 Precision Pro Golf NX-7 Pro slope mode

Simple by design, absolutely accurate, and easy to use describes the Precision Pro Golf NX7 rangefinder. It’s easily one of the best golf rangefinder products on the market today (for the cost).

Precision Pro Golf NX-7 Pro slope

It calculates distances to the pin within one yard of the target, and measures distance up to a tenth of a yard. For precision-focused golfers, it is a dream golf partner; especially for golfers on a budget who don’t want to sacrifice industry-leading features, build quality, and optics.

Let me share why I think the Precision Pro Golf NX7 ranks among the best.

First, its ergonomic shape makes it pleasant to hold. Its bright screen optics ensure clear visibility (even for visually impaired golfers) and its quick-change mode options make switching between functions a seamless process.

When playing golf, it is always a hassle to be on the green with a rangefinder difficult to use, complex in design, and difficult to use. You won’t find these annoyances with the Precision Pro NX7, as it’s a featured review laser rangefinder that has helped golf beginners and enthusiasts improve their execution on the green.

 Precision Pro NX7

The Precision Pro NX7 is an incredible piece of technology and will help you reduce at least a few hits from your score from the first use. Using the Precision Pro NX7, its industry-leading precision made me feel more confident in the field, and I’m sure it will do the same for you too.

While the Precision Pro NX7 is an inexpensive range measurement device, it packs all the must-have features you’d expect from rangefinders that cost hundreds of dollars more. Unprecedented precision, longer battery life, 6X zoom capability, and first/last orientation options are advantages of the Pro NX7 that has helped millions of golfers achieve scores they never thought possible.

Light

It is also quite light. When I use the Precision Pro NX7, I leave it attached to my golf bag via a carrying case accessory that comes bundled with the rangefinder. It feels weightless and out of the way (because of its compressed size).

It’s comfortable in the hand, quick to measure distances, and gives golfers of all experience levels the technology to improve their appearance round after round.

Precision Pro NX7 Precision

Precision Pro NX7 will bring a level of precision to your game than any other brand of rangefinder would be difficult to emulate.

As previously highlighted, the Precision Pro NX7 is accurate to within a single yard of the desired target (that’s one-tenth of a yard!).

If you’re focused on the numbers and want the most accurate technology available to golfers, this is it. Say, for example, there is a bunker in the distance.

On this next shot, you need to know if this hole is 56.49 yards versus 56.50 yards. While I’m not quite sure why you need to know this, if you did and/or wanted to, you could easily do it with the Precision Pro NX7.

As a golfer-backed rangefinder, the Precision Pro NX7 features TAG.

This nifty minor feature eliminates background targets that obstruct your line of sight.

This makes it easier to focus on the target and makes the distance measurement processed more quickly by the advanced computer of the rangefinder. It can measure distances to targets that are up to 400 yards away (that’s quite far and sufficient for any golf course measurement need).

Slop Measurement

Rangefinders that do not have target acquisition or slope measurement technology can easily capture the distance of a target beyond its intended target.

This does not improve one’s golf game and can delay your game by having to recalculate the distance. This can also lead to excessive shot changes that cause your golf ball to go past the green (counterintuitive to the point of using a rangefinder in the first place).

Golf veterans trust Precision Pro NX7  around the world. You also should.
